CODEX COMMITTEES AND TASK FORCES
Codex Executive Committee
The Executive Committee acts as the executive organ of the Commission
between sessions of the Commission .It consists of the Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons
of the Commission and seven members, elected by the Commission at the regular session,
one each coming from the following geographical regions:
Africa,
Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Near East, and North America and
the South-West Pacific.
The Executive
Committee may make proposals to the Commission regarding the general orientation
and programme of work of the Commission, study special problems and help implement
the program as approved by the Commission.
The Committee
normally meets prior to each session of the Commission, in the intervening year,
and at other times if deemed necessary.
