Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods

The Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses :

• determines priorities for the consideration of residues of veterinary drugs in foods;
• recommends Maximum Residue Limits (MRL s) for veterinary drugs;
• considers methods of analysis and sampling for the determination of veterinary drug residues in foods;
• and /or the environment. Furthermore, the MRLVD may be reduced to be consistent with good practices in the use of veterinary drugs and to the extent that practical and analytical methods are available.
